Guidelines for Accepting Items for Consignment or Donation
- Clothing must be in boxes, containers, or baskets. Hangers are not required but appreciated.
- All clothing must be clean, and odor and wrinkle free.
- Clothing should have been purchased new in the past three years from the time the clothes are brought in.
- Accessories should be in shopping bags.
- Toys, games, puzzles, books, etc. are accepted but items must be in excellent, working condition.
- Furniture and home decor items must be clean and free of odors and stains.
- Shoes must be in good condition--no holes, worn soles, broken heels, missing parts, etc. and odor free.
- Bedding must be recently laundered and without stains or odors.
Reasons for Rejection of Items
New x 2 Consignment Shop reserves the right to refuse items based on condition, style, current inventory levels, or past experience.The number one reason your items may be rejected is for stains!
Other reasons include but are not limited to:
- Items are torn or fraying or seams are coming apart.
- Items have spills.
- Items are missing pieces like buttons, clips, decoration, etc.
- Items have an odor such as cigarette, mothball, mold/wet, etc.
- Items are dirty, wrinkled, not laundered.
- Items still have garage sale stickers/pricing on them.
- Items are out of style/out-of-date or season, or are obsolete.
- Are worn out—especially shoes.
Selling Options
Consignment - Cash-out or Store Credit
If you choose consignment, you will receive 40% of the selling price when your items sell. If you choose store credit, you will receive a store credit of 50% of the value of your items when they sell. Store credit cannot be redeemed for cash and applies to purchases made only at New x 2 Consignment Shop in Burlington, Kansas.Buy-out
If you choose buy-out, you can expect to receive 20-25% of what we (New x 2) value your items for. This is the only compensation you receive for this arrangement.Donate
Donate your items to New x 2 and receive no compensation when items are sold by New x 2 Consignment Shop.Top of page
Other Important Information
If New x 2 Consignment Shop runs a sale, 40% of the sale price will be calculated for the consignor.Unsold items not picked up within the designated period will become the property of New x 2 Consignment Shop.
Advance notice of consignment cancellation is expected; a fee to pull unsold items to be returned to the consignor will be assessed.
A battery fee per missing battery will be assessed for electronic items consigned without batteries.
New x 2 is not responsible for your loss due to fire, theft, or burglary.
